African Bush Camps – Linyanti Expeditions

Welcome to the “Art of the true Safari”, exploring the private concession of Linyanti in Northern Botswana from our newest camp, Linyanti Expeditions.

The small, intimate camp will have just 6 tents, ensuring the same personalized service for all 12 guests. The concept is about getting back to basics, whilst still enjoying the same comforts as our other Expedition style camps. Nowadays, people are looking for that luxury safari, but not necessarily in terms of the standard of the accommodation, rather from the experience that the camp can offer, and this is exactly what Linyanti Expeditions will be about.

Each of the 6 tents will be on the ground and have an ensuite bathroom at the rear of the tent. Each bathroom will have its own toilet as well as a bucket shower, taking guests back to that bygone era of the original expedition camps.

There will be 2 main tented areas. One will form the main dining area and will have an open fire where all the cooking will take place. This will give guests the opportunity to see where all their incredible food is being prepared.

The second main tented area will be where guests can take a book and relax whilst enjoying the views over the Linyanti marsh.

The focus of Linyanti Expeditions will be on walking safaris, but we will also offer morning, afternoon and night game drives as well as mokoro trips through the Linyanti Wetland.

Linyanti Expeditions Head Guide

Dutch Kasale has been working as a guide all over Botswana for the last 10 years. His passion for guiding and the bush has seen him working in Nxai Pan, the Okavango Delta, Khwai, Moremi and the Linyanti regions giving him an in-depth knowledge of the different ecosystems of Botswana.

Given any opportunity Dutch will leave the vehicle behind and get out on foot often tracking down lion, elephant and other game with his guests, making him the perfect person to head up the guiding team at Linyanti Expeditions. Guests will be enthralled with Dutch’s campfire stories of his exciting life as a guide in Botswana and some of his best encounters over the years.

He is a keen birder and photographer and his passion will have any sceptic flicking through the bird book by the end of their safari with him. Being on a walking safari with Dutch is a real privilege as he can share his exceptional knowledge of the African bush, from the smallest of animal tracks, to the different medicinal uses of the different plants in the area
