Mashatu Game Reserve – Tourism Hub

Mashatu Airfield Becomes New Tourism ‘Hub’

Mashatu is delighted to announce that, from 3 June 2017, Limpopo Valley will become a tourism hub between the Kruger National Park and the Okavango Delta – being perfectly placed, equidistant between Kruger and Maun.  It is also midway between Johannesburg and Kasane and between Maun and Vilanculos in Mozambique, with new flights launching in June 2018.

Last year Angel Gabriel , which has an aircraft based at Limpopo Valley Airstrip at Mashatu, introduced convenient and reasonably priced 1-hour long direct flights between Johannesburg and Mashatu on Sundays and Thursdays which improved air access dramatically.

Starting 3 June 2017 Angel Gabriel flights (90 minutes flying time) will also be offered twice weekly on Wednesdays and Saturdays between Mashatu and Maun, gateway to the Okavango Delta.

Partners in the trade can also start planning packages combining the Delta, Mashatu and Vilanculos from 1 June 2018. Travelling from Maun to Vilanculos through Mashatu will be very convenient for safari and beach packages as it will eliminate the need for an overnight stop in Johannesburg, it is far less formal and more enjoyable – and will work out substantially cheaper and quicker.

Guests can also currently travel by air charter between Mashatu/MalaMala return on Sundays and Wednesdays (changing to Sundays and Thursdays in 2017) which takes just 2 hours including a quick stop at Polokwane.

Please contact reservations@mashatu.com or bookings@angelgabriel.co.za for more information or to book a flight.
