Nxamaseri Island Lodge experienced another excellent Barbel Run season this year, with many thrilled fishermen promising to return. We now look forward to welcoming back all the migratory birds to their summer home in the Okavango panhandle.
One spectacular migrant is the carmine bee-eater. They migrate here in their thousands every year, nesting in the exposed banks of the Okavango river while the water levels are at their lowest. The carmine colony is a truly spectacular site and should not be missed by anyone interested in birds or photography.
