Riding and Walking Safaris or in the words of our guests: REMOTE, AWE-INSPIRING, WELCOMING…

Specialist Safaris for the discerning traveler RAW Botswana – Motswiri Camp offers it all! Our riding safaris are considered the finest in Africa and our walking safaris are equally rated. As well as riding and walking, we have a wide range of other activities on offer including game drives, boating, mekoros and canoeing.

Motswiri Camp is nestled amongst some beautiful leadwood trees on the banks of the magnificent Selinda Spillway, an ancient watercourse flowing from the Okavango Delta to the west to the Linyanti Swamps to the East. The concession area is an impressive 330,000 acres of unspoilt, unfenced and very beautiful wilderness. We operate exclusively in the Western third of the Selinda Concession making us one of the most remote camps in Northern Botswana.

The year so far has seen some extraordinary and exciting game viewing. We feel privileged to have seen some rare sightings of two magnificent lions, now known affectionately as the Motswiri brothers. With their impressive manes and grand attitude, these two lions have been in the area now for most of the year and have certainly made their mark on a few lionesses in the area, one of whom was seen with a tiny cub earlier in the year!  As well as the lions, the Motswiri wild dog pack have been seen many times in the area and on a number of occasions have been seen hunting in front of camp!

On the whole, the game in the area just gets better and better every year and this year, we can boast an impressive variety of game including Lion, cheetah, leopard, hippo, elephant, roan and sable antelope, buffalo,  impala, zebra and giraffe.

Seeing game on foot or on horseback remains one of the most exhilarating and unique ways to view wildlife. On foot, the smells, sounds and touch of the bush makes walking a truly memorable and unforgettable experience. Our guides are all extremely knowledgeable and informative making the experience all the more rewarding.

Viewing game from horseback offers the joy of riding in this pristine wilderness on well-mannered and forward going horses all of whom are lovingly looked after by our wonderful Horse Manager, Carmen Cowley. Cantering through the floodplains whilst watching elephant crossing the water in the distance, all bathed in a glorious African sunset is a truly life-changing experience.

We cater for honeymoons, families, independent travelers and those just wishing to experience something special – something very special.
