Tuli Safari Lodge, Botswana – looking great at 50
Tuli Safari Lodge reopens after full refurbishment
Tuli Safari Lodge, Botswana, is delighted to announce its reopening following a major refurbishment in its 50th anniversary year. The ‘new’ Tuli retains the lodge’s welcoming ambience and classic charm, with 8 stunning new tented suites and all other areas of the lodge replaced or fully refreshed. To mark this double celebration, Tuli Safari Lodge is inviting guests to spend an additional night free of charge (stay 5 nights and pay for 4)*.
Tuli Safari Lodge is located between the time-sculpted kopjes of the Northern Tuli Game Reserve and the legendary Limpopo River. The Northern Tuli Game Reserve is in the easternmost corner of Botswana – a unique, timeless part of Africa with spectacular wildlife, breathtaking landscapes and fascinating history. Marking its 50th anniversary in 2014, Tuli Safari Lodge is one of the longest established photographic safari lodges in Africa.
Just 11 elegant suites nestle in Tuli Safari Lodge’s spacious gardens. 8 stunning new tented suites feature draped canvas over timber frames with large wrap-around decks. The interiors are a modern take on the classic ‘out of Africa’ décor with a flowing open plan design. 3 classic thatched suites are designed and furnished to the same high standard with shaded verandas and air conditioning. All suites can be made up as doubles or twins and can also accommodate two children if required.
Safari activities on offer at Tuli Safari Lodge are very varied, with guided game drives, bush walks, several hides (with the option of sleep outs), night drives, ½ day horseback safaris (via Limpopo Horse Safaris) and meaningful community visits. Tuli has also partnered with Mopane Bush Lodge to offer a 4 night trans-frontier safari combining Botswana with Mapungubwe World Heritage Site & National Park in South Africa (Tuli guests also have the option of visiting Mapungubwe as a day trip).
Tuli Safari Lodge’s extensive grounds – always a few degrees cooler than the surrounding reserve – make the lodge a really relaxing retreat in its own right. There is plenty to do within the lodge, with a large swimming pool, waterhole, hide, walking trail and lots of lovely vantage points overlooking the Limpopo River and game reserve.
“Tuli Safari Lodge is looking truly great at 50! This major refurbishment will complement the legendary Tuli hospitality to enhance the experience for guests and position the lodge well for the future,” said Stephen Lansdown, Chairman of Tuli Safari Lodge (Pty) Ltd. “Tuli is a hidden gem which warrants greater recognition as a fantastic safari destination.”
Tuli Safari Lodge is a great getaway destination in its own right; a natural staging post for those travelling between Botswana, South Africa and beyond; and also combines well with the Kruger National Park.
*Reopening special valid for stays up to and including 28th February 2015 for guests staying on a fully inclusive basis; not applicable to group rates nor combinable with any other offer. Rates at Tuli Safari Lodge start from BWP 1800 ($215, ZAR2160) per person per night staying on a dinner/bed/brunch basis.
