Yoga Safari – Witness a rare event

Special Event offered by Yoga Safari – Witness a rare event on the Makgadikgadi Salt Pans during our Solstice Yoga & Stargazing Retreat

June 20 & 21, 2019     USD 599 per person sharing

Have you ever seen a solar eclipse? Have you ever spent the night out on the ethereal Salt Pans of the Makgadikgadi and seen the millions of stars overhead? If not then this is the perfect opportunity to witness both. On this rare occasion the sun will rise on the morning of the winter solstice partially eclipsed. Yoga safari will provide special eclipse viewing glasses so each and every participant can watch our star rise whilst being partially eclipsed by our moon. It is a once in a lifetime event and not to be missed.

Experience the magic of both yoga and stargazing in one of the most spiritual places on our blue planet, the vast salt pans of the Makgadikgadi. This is where Deborah & Steve hold their annual Yoga & Stargazing retreat. Imagine being in a totally flat environment, from horizon to horizon, without a tree or a bump in any direction to hinder your view. Now imagine that same environment in the still of the night, with myriad stars ablaze in the heavens above you and tumbling down to meet the earth. The experience is one that is sure to enchant you. And to top it all at sunrise this year we are in for a real treat, as there is a very rare event happening – the sun will rise above the horizon partially eclipsed by the moon.
